Your role:

As a Chaplain in the Army Reserve, it is up to you to look after the spiritual welfare, provide guidance and pastoral support to all members of the Army, regardless of their faith or denomination.

In this part-time role, you’ll become an integral part of the Defence community and enjoy an important leadership and mentorship role, whilst remaining an active member of your own faith group.

During times of peace or conflict, you’ll be there to guide and provide counsel to people in the Army who need it most. If you’re looking for a rewarding new challenge, this role in the Army Reserve could be for you.

Wage:

The pay you receive in the Army Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax, and it increases as you gain seniority and experience.

On completion of military training and initial employment training your rate could increase to: $299/day tax-free.

Life in the Army Reserve:

Thousands of men and women enjoy part-time roles with the Army Reserve, operating alongside full-time Army personnel. The only difference is that your commitment is flexible.

Initial training length will vary based on your chosen role, after which you will normally be expected to serve between 20 and 100 days a year. This could involve an evening each week and one weekend a month, and even extended periods away.

We do our best to make sure this fits in with your work and family commitments; and deployments are voluntary so if you choose to stay local, there are plenty of ways to make a difference closer to home. And with no minimum period of service, you can leave the Army Reserve whenever you like.

Apply Now:

For this role, you must be a Minister of Religion endorsed by a denominational authority, have a Bachelor’s degree in ministry or theology and at least two years pastoral experience since ordination.

Click the APPLY button if you think you have what it takes to become an Army Reserve Chaplain and we’ll get in contact with you shortly.
