Your role

Across every operational unit from infantry to armoured and aviation, the Army employs a huge variety of vehicles, equipment and weapon systems. This creates equally diverse career opportunities for electrical and mechatronic engineers.

When you step up to this role you'll be employed in operational environments as an officer in command of as many as 50 technicians and tradespeople. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of high-tech military hardware that could include tanks, trucks, artillery weapon systems, armoured personnel carriers, radios, radar and missile systems.

Salary

  • Fully-paid training
  • Once trained, starting package approx. $82,941 p.a. plus superannuation

Location:

  • Initial training  will take place in Canberra, Victoria, and Queensland
  • Once you have completed your training you will be posted to any one of the many Army bases across Australia

Entry Requirements 

  • Aged 17 to 56
  • Australian Citizen 
  • Applicants must be enrolled in or be close to completing a Bachelors of Engineering in either Avionics, Communications/Telecommunications, Computer Systems, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics or Software Engineering
  • Be able to meet the minimum security, medical and fitness requirements
