Corporate Social Responsibility at ANSTO

Very transparent with information and finances

I don't have that much experience in this space but i have heard of many environmental initiatives and planning.

Ansto is very committed to csr and takes very seriously the social and environmental impacts it has on the wider community.

Ansto is big on communicating its benefits to the public.

Ansto has an outreach / education arm that is very mobile, but mostly targets school children.

Projects to improve public health.

Safety and security are number one priorities. we also have a large environmetnal research program. we are also building sustainably and environmentally friendly

The company runs a lot of tours of site with schools. this isn't limited to a particular type of school and i'm quite certain almost all school in nsw come. the aim is to generate interest not just in ansto but stem in general as there is a great shortage there. there is also a recent initiative to donate bikes to families in need for christmas. i'm certain there are more initiatives but i am less directly involved.

Significant gender equality initiatives, as well as heavy scientific education of the youth

Lots of interaction with school science programs, free community events, staffing and donating to charity events, etc.

My workplace runs a lot of local community and kids' programs, many of which i have been involved with. it is rewarding to teach children about science and engineering. i would also like to see a greater commitment to sustainability and environmental issues.

Community engagement, stem education initiatives. i've personally been able to work in both of these arenas.

I've worked with the company on relay for life of which the company is a major sponsor of the local event. there are also lots of outreach to local and regional schools with education programs and free tours around site to educate members of the public.
