Friendly and helpful staff

It is bureaucratic, people are friendly enough

Within the grad program, the social life is good. Semi regular dinners/drinks after work, and regular sport with the other graduates is enjoyable. There is a clear hierarchy, although people are friendly up and down it. The level of cooperation within the teams I have been a part of is good, although team culture varies across the org.

Everybody is very kind and courteous in the office and there is a good mix of people from different backgrounds around. Most importantly everyone is very respectful of one another. There is limited after hours mingling - a more professional culture not overstepping personal bounds. Teams are relatively small and so the structure is fairly flat. There's only about 5 levels of staff between myself and the chair, which is pretty good for a company of 700+ employees. Nothing bad around cooperation and teamwork. Things tend to move a bit slowly though sometimes.

colloborative, supportive, but there are governance challenges

Inclusion and Diversity networks play a significant role in the culture of APRA and help drive initiatives and events to make APRA inclusive. Graduates are well supported and are constantly exposed to interesting opportunities. While employees are at varying levels, contributions in discussions are made and expected by staff of all levels.

Friendly culture but social responsibilities fall to graduates, especially young female graduates. Being located in an office smaller than head office means less visibility. Recent change in leadership has resulted in culture change and uncertainty. Over-hierarchal structure with too many layers of review for simple matters. Strong parental leave policies mean that a team may have 5 members on paper but only 2 in practice (often most senior and junior). Robust and constructive teamwork within and between teams.

Active social dynamic for graduates, there is definitely room for improvement around social life of APRA. Work environment and life balance is very good.

People are very cooperative and share knowledge across hierarchies. Colleagues can be chatty and there are numerous opportunities to get to know seniors.

In office culture is amazing. All levels of employees work together freely and there is no sense of hierarchy which is perfect for a new graduate. Outside of hours not much culture but the culture amongst the graduates is great.

Generally a great culture, i have been very fortunate to work in a team with a great team culture.

hierarchy is so not a focus at APRA. I've had conversations with people from all over the organisation and no matter whether they're a member or a fellow graduate, the time they're willing to take out of their day is the same. After hour social events are common and everyone is welcome to get involved (no peer pressure though). Everyone is very team-based, in that there is no such thing as "your work" or "my work" - its one big collaboration.

Firstly, there's a strong emphasis on not being stretched too thin - late night emails and work is somewhat frowned upon. I often find myself working with colleagues who are have decades of experience, and do so while feeling comfortable and valued.

In the office, the culture is really great. Team members are very supportive and caring for the personal wellbeing of others, and professional development is strongly encouraged. There is a great culture of 'jumping in' and helping others out. I would say there is a flat structure at APRA, and the C-suite executives and Board members at APRA are very genuine and down-to-earth. They take the time to get to know people at APRA, and care for people's wellbeing. There is great cooperation and teamwork to support everyone in getting the job done for everyday Australians. Outside the office, there are great socialising and networking opportunities where you can talk to people outside your line of work, and as well with high-up APRA executives. There is also a large I&D focus at APRA, where everyone is encouraged to be their authentic selves.

Socialising has changed since COVID-19. Cooperation and teamwork between teams and branches are very satisfactory and sharing of knowledge is encouraged. Structure and hierarchy are clear at the managerial level, however at times it can inhibit growth or transparency is not trickled down to analysts.

Good level of socialisation and team working and learning and development Very hierarchical and not much face to face with senior people

Great culture! lots of social events and team building events
Graduate, Sydney - 08 Apr 2022
The culture is very inclusive and supportive. It is a safe space to ask questions and learn. Teamwork and collaboration is key in this organisation. Socialising is encouraged and social activities are planned for employees.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Apr 2022
The organisation is very flat line. I feel that I can approach anyone and have a conversation with them about anything. There is also significant emphasis of creating meaningful connections within the graduate cohort. This includes a buddy program with a grad from the previous year as well as organising for graduates to meet from across the 3 office locations.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Apr 2022
In office: very flat organisational structure, teamwork and collaboration is considered normal. Often there is limited time for social activities in my specific team, however there are many organisation-wide, department-wide social events.
