Always doing new things, never boring

Mixture of financial analysis, research and meeting with key stakeholders. As a graduate, much of the work is assisting others in the team.

Work plans typically follow an annual cycle of expected activities and then other ad-hoc activities or 'project' type activities (typically on a volunteer/EOI basis). Day-to-day revolves around these 3 types of activities, and includes document review, drafting lines of questions in preparation for meetings, making judgements on the adequacy of risk management etc.

Analysing investment data from all Australian superannuation funds.

Providing general support to my team and on occasion taking responsibility for certain workstreams has been extremely rewarding.

Preparing and delivering legal advice on discrete matters and ongoing policy.

Depending on the team/division it can be varied significantly. This gives you the versatility to find work that is more suited to you.

Involves working on projects, conducting research, writing up papers and collaborating with team members.

Given a wide array of tasks to do day to day which is perfect for a new graduate. Opportunities to learn are amazing from this.

My normal work involves looking at data and generating insights for our stakeholders.

my days look quite different, depending on the specific projects going on. they are very well-supported and a great learning environment to foster development.

Engaging with Superannuation entities to ensure that they comply with the relevant legislative requirements and standards. You get a wide variety of stakeholder management, both internal and external, and be immersed in a range of work (e.g. data analytics,governance,e policy etc).

I analyse the performance of superannuation funds and hold trustee boards to account. This generally consists of data analysis and writing reports and analysis papers that are published internally and externally. No day is the same - on another day, I may be meeting with superannuation boards and executives; the next day, I may be shaping and providing input into APRA's policy and supervisory approach, then implementing it.

Supervision of range of entities, with varying prudential issues and concerns.

Policy development, stakeholder engagement, data analysis

At the moment the focus for grads is to learn about the organisation and the role of their division. Day-to-day currently involves training, shadowing other analysts, ad-hoc work

Day-to-day in the legal team I assist with drafting internal advices, reviewing contracts, drafting instruments and deeds, assisting with FOI requests and a lot of other varied work.

As a grad, you do get exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of a team and can contribute in many different ways. The work is generally of a high standard, and there are many opportunities to meet with very senior internal and external individuals and teams.

Probably still mostly compliance based in the end

Analyst responsible for frontline supervision of a number of superannuation entities. Financial and non-financial analysis, meeting with Board and Executive of these funds as well as involvement in a range of working groups.
