I support anyone in my team who needs extra help. This changes what I work on every day. During my working week (2 days part-time) I commit 3 hours to calling to survey customers about a specific product. In other work, I am currently documenting the process that a team member has to take to be able to survey based on the different brand and intended customer audience, it's very interesting and I'm getting a wider knowledge of the business from it

I am involved in daily input processes that is required by other teams so that they can complete their work. It can be fairly repetitive but there is opportunities to work on a variety of work and projects.

I enjoy the role I am in. At times it can be repetitive, but that is the reality in a entry level role. The team provides a lot of support and help with any challenges I face.

Pros and cons of working at BOQ Group

Pros

  • Flexibility to WFH whenever I want (please omit this as it will not apply to all interns). People here are great. Company understands that you are a Junior/Intern and wants you to learn/ doesn't expect you to perform as well as established staff. Staff home loan rates.

  • Great mentorship during the internship program. Felt as though the tasks and expectations were very well calibrated for a first time internship.

  • Team has been absolutely great, extremely welcoming and willing to mentor and guide me throughout the tasks I'm assigned should I have any issues. Overall a very friendly team, where I feel comfortable enough to reach out to managers/senior managers if I find the need to.

  • Culture that is welcoming and promotes personal career development

  • The culture is very supportive, welcoming and inclusive. I know I can always ask for help when I need it. My work changes a lot from week to week - I enjoy the variety.

Cons

    • When trying to increase capacity for work, the process can be timely.

    • The only downside would be the team being split across Australia so there are not as many in the office I'm in, but not really a concern for me personally.

    • Inability to rotate teams as an intern and experiment

    • Initially, there was a lot of change happening, which made it hard as a first corporate role. It took a while to adjust to everything as things would change so often. I think that was bad timing.

    • Technology isn't as developed as other companies
