Join BDO as a Vacationer in our Corporate & International Tax team in either November 2024 or January 2025!
BDO is one of the world’s leading audit, accounting, advisory and consulting firms. We provide a range of services to clients of all sizes and industries across Australia.
As a vacationer, you’ll see firsthand how our Corporate & International Tax team assist clients with their tax compliance obligations including tax returns, tax provision calculations, and other tax reporting.
This will vary from day to day and can include Assistance with the preparation of tax returns, activity statements and other ATO documents, attendance at client meetings virtually and in person and assistance with research projects.

What you’ll offer:
- Your knowledge from your current studies – Accounting, Commerce or relevant undergraduate degree.
- You are in your penultimate or final year!
- Your availability to commence in either November 2024 or January 2025 for 4 weeks. The length of the program and available intakes may vary in each location.

I am given a fair amount of responsibility, and plenty of support to learn.
Checking emails, liaising with clients to receive information on their R&D activities, writing/drafting activities according to AusIndustry guidelines/ITAA legislation. Calculating financial incentives and meeting with clients.
Admin tasks including note taking, setting up meeting and powerpoint/word templates, writing and research tasks

Pros
The culture in and out of the office is great.
My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.
Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.
Never any pressure to stay late.
The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.
Cons
Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.
The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.
Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.
Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.
Could include more women, however this is the industry.
