Join BDO as a Vacationer in our Risk Advisory team in either June 2024, November 2024 or January 2025!

As a Vacationer you’ll see firsthand how our Risk Advisory team assist organisations in integrating their culture, systems and processes to identify and manage risk. Our specialists work closely with clients to maximise business operations and performance through the prediction, identification, mitigation and resolution of threats, preventing loss, damage or harm to their business.
The Risk Advisory vacation program is an excellent opportunity to build your understanding and knowledge of risk and assurance practices.
What you’ll get:
- 4-to-8-week program completing full-time, paid work experience during the university semester break

What you’ll offer:
- Your knowledge from your current studies Commerce, Accounting, Information Technology or other relevant undergraduate or postgraduate CA/CPA eligible degree
- You will be in your penultimate or final year!
- Your availability to commence in either June 2024, November 2024 or January 2025 for 4-8 weeks. Length of program and available intakes may vary in each location.

I am given a fair amount of responsibility, and plenty of support to learn.
Checking emails, liaising with clients to receive information on their R&D activities, writing/drafting activities according to AusIndustry guidelines/ITAA legislation. Calculating financial incentives and meeting with clients.
Admin tasks including note taking, setting up meeting and powerpoint/word templates, writing and research tasks

Pros
The culture in and out of the office is great.
My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.
Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.
Never any pressure to stay late.
The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.
Cons
Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.
The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.
Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.
Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.
Could include more women, however this is the industry.
