About our Audit team
BDO's Audit practise has established itself as a major player within the local marketplace, auditing many of Queensland and Australia's leading public and private sector organisations across a diverse industry base. We are seeking students who are interested in joining our Graduate program and starting their auditing career.

Our Audit Graduate Program will give you the opportunity to:

  • Go out on client sites from day one
  • Audit a mix of large and small clients, both public and private
  • Receive excellent mentoring and support throughout you audition career
  • Develop your knowledge, skills on and client relationship skills through dealing directly with clients

We welcome students who:

  • Are in their final year (or recently completed) a Business or Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent resident at time of application
  • Are involved in extra-curricular activities
  • Are a dynamic team player with an innovative approach to work and life
  • Are able to interact with all types of clients and people
  • Display solid academic achievement
  • Possess fantastic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Like to be out of the office changing location as no Audit day is ever the same!

Checking emails, liaising with clients to receive information on their R&D activities, writing/drafting activities according to AusIndustry guidelines/ITAA legislation. Calculating financial incentives and meeting with clients.

Pros and cons of working at BDO Australia

Pros

  • The culture in and out of the office is great.

  • My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.

  • Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.

  • Never any pressure to stay late.

  • The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.

Cons

    • Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.

    • The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.

    • Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.

    • Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.

    • Could include more women, however this is the industry.
