Our 18-month Graduate Program, Foundations, has been uniquely designed to bridge the gap between formal education and the workforce, establishing a clear path for your future and accelerated success. Our industry leading Graduate Program is designed to set you up for a long and successful career - by building a solid foundation. Here’s what to expect: 

• kick off with a three-day all expenses paid conference on the Gold Coast with your peers
• engage in structured learning through three tailored modules on topics designed to develop critical thinking, problem-solving and leadership skills
• experience exciting hands-on and in person learning every six months to build relationships and network with your peers from across the country

What you’ll do

Striving to achieve HSEQ excellence is an integral part of what we do - it’s what we like to call the BMD way. As a HSEQ Graduate, you’ll get the chance to explore multiple functions of the projects you work on to get an in-depth understanding of requirements associated with BMD’s health and safety, environmental, and quality  obligations. You will work as part of the team and play a key role in ensuring all work is delivered in accordance with the HSEQ aspects required for the project. 

During your time as a HSEQ Graduate, you will get the opportunity to:

• assist with implementation and review of the project’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Erosion and Sediment Control Plans (ESCPs), as well as research and implementation of best practice and innovative solutions on our projects
• work as part of a team to ensure compliance with HSEQ aspects as per the regulatory, client and project specific requirements
• assist with audits and inspections to assess performance, identify and contribute to opportunities for improvement
• be involved in monitoring and ensuring results are reviewed and acted upon
• assist with reporting and investigations of incidents including recommendations for remedial, corrective and preventative actions and the review of these actions for effectiveness
• actively participate in training initiatives and skill development programs.

To be successful, you will have strong decision-making and communication skills, creative thinking and the drive to experience real hands-on work in the field. We are also looking for a graduate who can showcase resilience, enthusiasm and a passion for teamwork to achieve positive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

To qualify for this position, you must have completed a Bachelor of occupational health and safety science, environmental science or engineering or related discipline (or graduating in 2024 or mid-2025). Candidates will require your own transport to site.
