Where you can create what’s next

Seeking summer interns for Engineering

With a world class team of more than 3,500 employees across the country and a number of international sites, Boeing has had a presence in Australia for the last 95 years and is the company’s largest footprint outside the United States. Boeing partners with Australia’s defence and commercial industries to design and deliver world-leading solutions for our customers, and we are an invaluable part of our country’s research and development community.

If you want to put your university studies into practice before graduating, Boeing Australia’s university intern opportunities will provide you with hands-on insight into the fast-paced global aerospace industry.

For students in their second, third or fourth year of study, we offer a 12-week placement at a number of our Boeing subsidiaries as well as our Research and Technology division, to work on site-based and corporate projects at various Australian locations. As well as interesting, real-life work experience, we also offer you a mentor and peer support. Plus, you gain insights into Boeing Australia to help decide the best career options for when you graduate.

To apply, please upload your resume, current academic transcripts and a cover letter answering the following application questions:

  • What excites you about being part of the Boeing team?
  • What do you hope to experience during your internship?
  • What do you envisage sustainability should look like at Boeing in your field?

Due to the nature of the work you may participate in, you will need to be an Australian citizen with eligibility to obtain a Defence Security clearance.

Boeing is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we invite you to be part of an organisation that fosters a diverse workplace. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

The work itself is good, but as mentioned earlier as a new employee there isn't enough to keep me busy. Currently my day to dat is going over various company internal web pages and occasionally doing work as my higher ups find things for me to do.

Pros and cons of working at Boeing Australia

Pros

  • The flexibility with hours and locations is fantastic and really helps to promote a fantastic work-life balance.

  • Opportunity to work on new and exciting projects.

  • The people I work with are incredible! I've never worked for a company where I've clicked with so many people on both a professional and social level.

  • Flexible work, excellent breadth of experience both in terms of work to do and people to ask questions of.

  • Great office culture, everyone is very friendly and willing to help out with any questions or concerns.

Cons

    • Ability to 'climb the ladder' seems difficult, making salary and career progression hard.

    • So far the worst thing I have found is that since I am a new Graduate for the company the initial work load is quite small and this can sometimes make the days feel extremely long.

    • Onboarding culture is still difficult, little attempt to introduce people on start.

    • It is quite a large company, so it can be easy to feel lost.

    • How slowly things can take to change in such a large company
