The application process consisted of a CPB portal to upload all information followed by a formal face to face interview.

Initial contact over the phone with an option to do a phone interview on the spot or arrange an alternative day. A few weeks after the phone interview, I received a phone back notifying me I have moved to the next stage of face to face interviews. The face to face interview was completed virtually due to Covid restrictions.

online assessment and a face to face interview, including a group activity and a prepared presentation. my manager interviewed me, so I knew going in to work who I would be working with. I was also told prior to my start date who my manager would be.

I was interviewed by the project manager of the two projects that I will be working on, the data center project director, and the HR manager. The interview process was carried out after the technical assessment process was carried out. During the interview I was asked to explain my answer from the technical assessment that I had done, then I was asked questions related to the answer and case study from the technical assessment.

We have a written test, group discussion and individual interview. The three tests are take place in a continuous basis.

the assessment relate to my educational background so all you need to do is focus to get good answer and it was not hard. The interview is based on your answer from your assessment, so make sure you do it by yourself.

At my time of being hired, COVID had made everything online. I had to complete video interviews where I would record my answers, online assessments of skills, as well as a final video call interview with one of the managers at UGL and a HR member.

Simple one-on-one interview with your hiring manager, no assessment was required, however an online interview and academic transcript was required.

The interview is friendly, just like causal talk.

The interview process took time but was relatively straight forward. None of the assessments were too stressful.

- why do you want to work in construction? - health and safety questions - there is a subcontractor discharging dirty water into a creek. the subcontractor is 20 years your senior, what do you do?

Why I wanted to work in construction industry? As a woman, do you think you will get used to work in such extreme environment ,as it is going to be super hot and uncomfortable.

1. What is the process that must be followed to deliver material needs in remote areas? 2. How is the work culture in the company? 3. What is the company's scope of work on the Tangguh Expansion Project?

Typical interview questions (why work here? Strengths, weaknesses, etc.) as well as being required to present on an industry based topic of my preference and completed some group tasks.

I was given prompts or scenarios where I would have to recount a time where something similar happened to me. They wanted to hear about how I reacted, how I solved problems, etc. I also needed to give a small presentation with a topic I was given two days earlier. I needed to talk about this topic for 5 minutes and answer the question provided.

About the environmental issue in the field of construction

What did I study in my degree? What did I find challenging and how did I overcome that? What do I think my strengths are and where/when have I demonstrated them? What kinds of work experiences have I previously had?

A good mix of technical and non technical questions

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Do you have any examples where you prioritized health & safety? Why did you apply for UGL?

I don't remember too much. Mostly questions about my interests, my ability to work in a team.

Relax and be yourself, study up on the company and their projects. Be honest with yourself and what you want out of the experience.

Research about the company, what project they are working on. Know the why you want to work for the company.

Make sure they familiarize themselves with the company goal and see how their professional goals align with the companies vision.

Be yourself and figure out why you're interested in a career in construction

Best to join as an undergraduate. Don't use the online portals and try to get a recommendation from someone

give examples of how you manage health and safety. be confident in your answers and presentation.

Be honest - no-one expects you to know technical knowledge about the inner workings of rail or road systems, but a basic understanding will help. "Innovation" isn't always a technical innovation - it can be a system that you have improved the efficiency of or a new method for approaching problems that you championed.

Learn everything related to engineering, the implementation process, planning and construction management which will be very useful if we enter a contracting company

Be yourself and do your research.

Raise questions actively and show your passion for the position. It is very important to let them know they you could work as a long term employee.

Make sure you know which department you are applying for as there is a chance that you may not be able to rotate out of the department and the line of work.

Just review what you learn from the university and having a polite manner to the interviewers.

Don't just say what you think they want to hear. Be yourself and be honest in your answers, people responding to questions like they've just read a "LinkedIn How To" is a pretty dead set give away you're not being honest to them or yourself.

Get to know the industry and the company. Don't feel like the purpose of the interview is to show how great you are (that is part of it) but you also need to show that you can work with others, listen and understand things as well as appearing approachable.

Show you can work well with others in a collaborative space and have strong communication skills. Prepare by thinking of real life experiences and challenges you've encountered and how you have dealt with them.

Think about some past experiences that showcase your commitment to getting the job done, how you fixed an issue, etc. This can range from university projects or part time jobs. They want to hear about how you work in a team environment.

Understand the market in which UGL operates and the specific division you may be apart of
