CIMIC Group invests in future leaders by providing graduates with exposure to a global organisation across multiple industries. The CIMIC Group graduate program gives graduates the opportunity to learn and develop whilst working on some of the worlds' most iconic construction, mining and operations and maintenance projects.
Graduates are provided structured on-the-job training, guided learning plans and leadership mentoring. Over the two-year program, graduates will undertake 2 x 1-year rotations with placements in various roles, projects or operating companies within the group.
Graduates enter the program working at one of the CIMIC Group Operating Companies: CPB Contractors, Leighton Asia, Sedgman, UGL or EIC Activities. Over the course of the program rotations and industry exposure activities are also available at CIMIC and Pacific Partnerships.

Will graduates be expected to relocate? Yes. We expect our graduates to be willing to relocate temporarily to take advantage of opportunities to progress their development and career.

Construction & Property Services
CIMIC Group is an engineering-led construction, mining, services and public private partnerships leader with a history dating back to 1899.
Delivering major projects that shape cities and impact the lives of those around me. Being part of UGL/CIMIC has given me the chance to work on the Cross River Rail project which is helping to define the future of Brisbane.
I feel that I am working with professionals that I can learn from and that they will push me to take on new and challenging opportunities. Also treated me with respect.
The people I have worked with have provided me with valuable experience, even as an undergrad and treated me with respect and as a proper employee despite my experience. I've been provided with plenty of opportunities at various types of projects and have been surrounded by a great team each time.
I've been provided with a lot of opportunities and have felt supported to some degree in every role I've worked in. The female representation and leadership is also higher than what I've seen from other contractors of the same level
It gives me an international perspective of working in this industry. I feel so respected to work as a woman in here, as they have created a woman in construction group to gather the female power in the company.
The large amount of opportunities to gain experience in different areas and projects due to the great portfolio of work and diversity of the company.
Usual office hours and pay is great to match hours worked. However, the hours on site can be much longer and the domestic site allowance does not cover all the overtime that is worked.
Not enough resources/people to get job done successfully. May need to do overtime to get the job complete.
Working in such a large company it can feel like being a small cog in a large machine. It can be hard to navigate the business and define a career path.
Transitioning between projects is not always smooth
Although rotations are stated as part of your graduate program, I found it very difficult to get the managers to allow me to rotate into other departments to pursue other opportunities.
Office culture is lacking, maybe due to COVID but unsure has haven't been here for long enough
