Cisco has a policy to improve their hiring rates with respect to women and there is lots of respect no matter which nationality/ethnicity you are. It's a slow but sure process and while Cisco continues this I'm a strong believer of hiring based on ability for the job rather than a checklist. In saying this the Cisco graduates HR team are working on better ways to encourage women in IT at earlier and support programs like the Lucy Mentoring program to educate women in uni over several months to have female mentors within Cisco as well as to shadow and observe other women/men in the industry to get a hands on feel of our roles and what it is like to work for Cisco.
