Who are we?
If you haven't heard of us, then we guarantee you've heard of our brands. Diageo Australia is the country's leading spirits producer with an enviable portfolio of brands including Australia's iconic Bundaberg Rum; global giants such as Johnnie Walker, Gordon's Gin, Baileys, Smirnoff and Captain Morgan; and our premium Reserve brands such as Tanqueray, Ketel One and Don Julio. Cocktail culture is thriving across Australia and our industry is one that's vibrant, fast-paced and trend-leading.
Our Australian head office including the on-site bar is located in North Sydney and we also have a large manufacturing site located in Sydney's west where our manufacturing, planning and distribution teams operate. Finally, we have a team of talented and dedicated people at our Bundaberg Distillery in Queensland including our award-winning visitor experience, and a sales force located across the country in our major capitals and regional areas.
What about the role?
Our intern program is designed to support near the graduate-level university and tertiary education students in obtaining hands-on experience within manufacturing and supply chain operations. The program is designed to provide an exceptional opportunity for you to work on a variety of tasks with true ownership of some exciting projects across continuous improvement, process mapping, sustainability, and world-class manufacturing.
As our Intern in the Move Team, you will join the team that ensures our customers always have full shelves and our consumers have the right product to pick up at the right time. They are truly the team that keeps us moving! This internship is designed to give you a full end to end experience across the supply chain function, covering a deep understanding and experience across Customer Supply, Transport Planning and Warehousing.
Please note our internship is for 2 days per week (15 hours) for 6 months.
Where will you grow in this role?
What will you bring to the table?
What is the culture like?
Are you prepared to take risks in the pursuit of greatness? Do you hold yourself to the highest standards with real accountability for results? Would you treat the business as if it is truly your own – because you want your legacy to be worthy of that of our founders? Then, let's talk!
We are an organisation that creates products that are part of celebrations, and our culture reflects this. We work in a flexible way to ensure that you can fit work around your life commitments – this may be a different location and/or flexible hours. We are a future-focused organisation, that is constantly wanting to perform better and to continue our growth.
Our commitment to inclusion and diversity:
Diageo is committed to building a workplace culture that values inclusion and diversity. We actively promote the employment of people with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTI and other diversity groups.
Diageo encourages applications from people with disabilities and will provide reasonable adjustments in our recruitment processes and in the workplace. If you need an adjustment in the recruitment process, please let us know when submitting your application and we will tailor our process where practical.
I am currently focussing on learning the production lines, and starting three projects for the business (to do with waste, implementing a system and quality).
Great responsibilities that have the right level of challenge and support to grow
I own a territory and am an account manager for all independent bottle shops, bars, and restaurants in that area (Sydney Northern Beaches). There is a lot of selling, contract negotiation, relationship management, and admin in this role.

Retail & Consumer Goods
Diageo stands proud to be the world's largest spirits business owning brands Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Gordon's and our homegrown hero Bundaberg Rum.
What is great about my workplace is the people, and that every day is different!
They are very flexible, as long as you complete what is required!
I have been well looked after and supported in being trained up and coached in new tasks and responsibilities.
There are options and opportunities for promotions and career progression, especially for the supply chain side of the business!
There are outreach things and groups here.
Sometimes, because there is a lean headcount, there are a lot of tasks and projects, and sometimes you may not be well set up for success.
Yes, Huntingwood is not the easiest location (okay if you can drive, but hard to get to by public transport!).
Bonuses were confusing, only because it was a formula and seemed complicated in how it was calculated.
Maybe more clarity in the different rotations and structures earlier on!
Because of a lean headcount, it can be challenging to get sufficient support.
