Application Process & Interviews at DXC Technology

During my interview process, I completed an online assessment, participated in a virtual group assessment where we had to create a presentation, and had two rounds of interviews. The DXC Grad team made the process easy and was excellent at communicating the requirements to me.

Rigorous (but in a good way) and gives insight into the positive workplace culture.

It was good but there was a couple of months where my job disappeared for a bit before they found a different one for me to do.

Had an initial interview and did a course at Uni before starting the internship. Interview process was good.

I only had one interview to complete, and it was a thorough interview with my current manager, however I understand that people who applied for other roles had to complete various assessments.

The first step after applying to DXC was an online assessment. Once that was reviewed, I then had an over the phone meeting with a member of the HR team which only took around 20 minutes and was fairly casual. The next stage was the assessment centers. This involved a group interview and an individual interview. The group interview was quite stressful wtih applicants in groups of 4 asked to come up with a new type of technology/idea and share it with the group. Once all the ideas had been shared, the group decided on the best idea and had to do a presentation to the assessors. The individual interview was also quite intense, though the interviewer was polite and asked good questions. I had a bad experience as I didn't get offered a job until a couple of months after the interviews. The team said we would find out a few weeks after the assessment center, but then they let me know about 6 weeks later the role I was interviewing for has been put on 'hold' and they weren't sure if they were going to be hiring for that role (due to budget constraints I'm assuming) but said that they would let me know. I didn't get any updates for a month or two following that and then the job offer came through around the end of October (the assessment centers were in July I believe).

A long process but worth while. High calibre of grads

At first there was an online assessment and then there were various interviews with different people from DXC.

Phone - Online assessment - Assessment Centres - Some would get half day catch up with final interviewers - Verbal offers - Paper offers

Two assessments, one on personality and one on analytical and logical ability. One interview, lasted for around 45 minutes.

I was an exception to the norm as I was overseas travelling and conducted my interviews via skype calls

How I would approach situations if I was in the role I was applying for (as a BA).

Was asked about my interests, how they relate to the company, what I'm hoping to do at the company and about my interests in the company communities of interests and how I might get involved with them. Besides that just some basic skills questions to get an idea of my capabilities.

I cant remember specifics, I do remember one about how do you talk to your different co-workers. I said something along the lines of my answer changes depending on the strength our relationship. That was a good question.

Very different. from innovative questions, to basic what would you do in this scenario

Why I want to work there, what I have done in the past. Questions relating to my CV, whether I would be willing to relocate and travel if needed.

Give us an example of when you were in a leadership position. What are you expectations of this role? What are some of your interests?

There were questions about my previous experience (professional and volunteering experience), my career goal (what i would like to achieve in next 5 years) and my interests.

Describe yourself using a random photo; How much do you know about the Company? What are your aspirations?

Remember to consider why you and DXC are a good match. Think of your experiences in Uni or extracurricular activities that are relevant to working in an IT company. Be genuine and honest. Don't worry!

Speak honestly and confidently, you only know so much so there is no shame in admitting it. It is a graduate role so you need to acknowledge there is always room for growth.

Revise what you know before the interview and make sure you remember both the companies values and how they resonate with you. Try to just enjoy the interview.

Play a team sport or engage in a community activity. Love what you do. Adopt the mindset winning by yourself is good, winning as a team is better.

Be confident and talkative in the group interviews, but don't be overbearing. Research the company and the role and know why you're applying, as they'll likely ask why you want to work for DXC. Also have some questions prepared to ask the interviewer at the end of your individual interview.

Be prepared and research the company - and during the interview be yourself :)

Just be themselves. If not the case, DXC wasn't for them.

Make sure that your abilities are clear, and that you show you are capable. This can be done through the interview and your cover letter. Make your interest evident.

Relax

Focus on the aptitude and academics, project the best field of interest.

It is really important to set up your career goal and be clear on it (what you enjoy the most, what you are good at and what you would like to achieve or become in next 5 - 10 years).

Have an open mind and be willing to try any business unit/area within the company.
