There are thousands of graduates in the market, stand out from the crowd.

Technology is transforming all our lives – developments in robotics, automation, artificial intelligence and big data are creating the careers of the future. Digital careers need intelligent, analytical minds, people who want to make a difference; graduates who desire to be at the forefront of change.

Regardless of your degree subject, we believe all graduates possess the skills to fuel an exciting career in technology. FDM offers numerous career paths for you to choose from, and that’s why in 2019, we launched the careers of over 2,100 graduates. FDM Group is an FTSE 250 employer with a global footprint working with some of the world’s most reputable organisations such as KPMG Australian Services Pty Ltd and Macquarie Group.

You will receive fully-funded training before being placed on-site with one or more of our clients in Australia for a minimum of two years. After the two years, you can remain with FDM or you may have the opportunity to transition to an in house role at FDM or to carry on working with the client as a member of their permanent team.

Why choose to kick-start a career in Project Support & Business Analysis?

As a Project Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role, supporting the project manager and the wider team to ensure that the project is a success. This is a very busy and varied role and your duties may include project planning, risk assessments, preparing progress reports, monitoring project schedules and budgets and liaising with key stakeholders. All projects are different and therefore the tasks of a PSO will vary so you must be resilient and adaptable to meet challenging demands. You will also train to work as a Business Analyst. A Business Analyst balances technical skills, business knowledge, troubleshooting expertise, and possesses excellent soft skills.

This program is a great fit for those who are avid problem solvers and who enjoy working in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Business Analysts must be great communicators to meet both the technical and interpersonal needs of the role. Successful candidates will receive technical and professional training through our award-winning FDM Academy. You become an FDM employee from day one and are paid during the training period before placement onsite with our clients in Australia.

Fast-track career progression is a key focus of FDM, and our program will put you on a pathway that could grow into leadership roles working within multinational organisations.

How is the program structured?

Your journey as a BA/PSO Consultant will begin with receiving fully-funded training and the chance to gain industry-recognised qualifications, as well as mentoring and support throughout. Our award-winning Graduate Program provides a wealth of opportunities to gain transferable skills as well as become an expert within your field. After successfully completing your training, you will work with one or more of our clients in Australia during the two-year program.

I am in a role a bit different to the role I actually want to be in, but I have time, support and training to help me move into that role eventually. My role is enjoyable and the day-to-day responsibilities are in line with what I'd expect from the role.

Pros and cons of working at FDM Group Australia

Pros

  • My current managers are fantastic and are always supportive, they provide support in terms of my career growth and allow me to challenge myself.

  • Great environment, everyone is equal, always down for a laugh. Plenty of office events and after work drinks, a very inclusive environment

  • There is a very good support system, in a couple of different ways. For one, you have a cohort of people that are on the same journey while working in similar roles and similar places. They also have support staff around that are there to help for any issue.

  • The support and training you get from FDM

  • Great training program, great trainers.

Cons

    • Always meeting new consultants, but going to different clients, it is hard to keep relationships with consultants you meet initially.

    • Repetitive work

    • As a large multi-national there are some annoying processes in place (i.e. things like applying for leave and submitting timesheets)

    • I'd say salary especially as the inflation is pretty high

    • Throughout COVID - not having the ability to catch up with the fellow consultants and peers
