About the Role

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you’ll get the opportunity to apply what you’ve studied – working in the field solving real-world challenges, challenges that span and extend beyond your discipline.  You will have the opportunity to gain valued experience in engineering design, reliability and project management rotating throughout the different working areas.

The Engineering teams have a strong working relationship with the mining assets and life cycle management team. There is a strong focus on preventative maintenance and delivering consistent results.  Whether it is working underground, on HV projects, or in the Coal Handling preparation plants, your exposure to the full range of Electrical Engineering projects is unprecedented.  You will be placed on a rotational program to experience multiple sites, fast tracking your knowledge of our business and the industry. A typical day will involve working under the guidance of an experienced team, assisting with designing, developing, supporting the installation, operations, and maintenance of electrical systems for both open cut and underground mining operations.  In addition, you will also be provided with opportunities to work on electrical systems used for computing, communications, and other industrial applications. Seeing the effort you invest, resolve risk, and improve our business is rewarding but not without its hurdles and this will challenge your problem-solving curiosity.

• Residential Hunter Valley, NSW.   From wine tasting in Australia’s oldest wine region to bushwalking in World Heritage wilderness, the Hunter is an appealing region for many.  Residents have easy access to acclaimed restaurants, beautiful beaches, festivals, heritage and ancient rainforest in the Hunter Valley, Upper Hunter and Barrington Tops. With Newcastle and Sydney an easy drive away, you can enjoy the best of both world’s having access to all of what our vibrant city and regional lifestyles can offer.
• Residential Mudgee, NSW.   Mudgee  residents enjoy access to many lifestyle attractions and relish in the four distinct seasons. This region offers breath-taking natural beauty, a vibrant winery area, locally grown food produce and a real community with heart and soul. • Residential Mackay region, QLD. One of Australia’s fastest growing regions that offers affordable “big city standard” services and housing in a relaxed and idyllic destination.  The area offers a central location with ease of access by air, road and rail. With close proximity to the fifth busiest airport in Queensland, Mackay is serviced by more than 110 flights weekly, with more than 70 of those providing the 1.5-hour flight between Brisbane and Mackay. With 31 beaches, pristine rainforests and easy access to nearby islands, the greater Mackay region offers a great work/life balance.
• Residential Emerald region, QLD. A number of our sites are located in the Central Highlands region of Central Queensland, Australia. The region encompasses an area of around 60 000 square kilometres, making it just short of the size of Tasmania.  Not only is the region home to a globally competitive coal mining industry, it also has a robust and resilient agriculture and horticultural industries. Residents have access to major health and education services. There’s access to many natural attractions including camping, fishing and other water recreational activities. For access to beach and bigger shops, it’s approximately three-hours’ drive to the coast and there are many air services to Brisbane

About You

• Qualified with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Mechatronics) or similar (prior to commencement)
