Your opportunity

Tax is an increasingly complex area for businesses to navigate. Failing to meet their corporate tax obligations can have a significant impact on our clients, resulting in reputational damage, business risks and penalties.

Our Corporate Tax team work closely with clients to ensure they are meeting their tax obligations, managing risk and optimising their tax position. What does this mean? Fundamentally, we help clients to figure out how much tax they need to pay.

Joining team Corporate Tax team as a graduate will see you:

  • completing and lodging company income tax returns
  • researching relevant case law, legislation and tax rulings
  • attending regular team training to keep up to date with legislative and regulatory changes
  • liaising frequently with clients and the ATO
  • drafting tailored tax advice with the support of your team and various subject matter experts.

Eligibility

To be eligible for our 2024 graduate opportunities, you must be:

  • on track to complete your studies by mid-2024; or have completed a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the last two years; and
  • an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, a Permanent Resident of Australia or a visa-holder (subject to some conditions).

International students and graduates

Pros

  • Exposure to a number of types of clients, good structure, really nice offices, good culture, other associates always ready to give you a hand.

  • 9 day working fortnights during quiet periods has been amazing. It helps incentivise me to finish my work earlier so I can get time off.

Cons

    • It seems that there is not much cross over between different service lines.

    • Sometimes you are required to work after hours.

    • Sometimes you will need to visit the client that is quite far away.

    • While the starting salary may be lower, the potential for growth and advancement is promising.

    • Lots of online training modules to complete at the beginning.
