I don't know how the management systems is like across the whole company. But within the team i'm working with, managers tend to be very friendly. If possible, i would recommend you to join this team :).

Feeling like a broken record here, but all the management in the sydney office of amazing. Approachable, receptive, willing to provide feedback and recognises performance. The management in the sydney office is to be applauded, and is an example of the type of management that retains people. And, like before, these structures tend to break down as you leave the office. While there are efforts made to do all the above mentioned things, the communication lines break down, and the recognition goes to those that take credit, as opposed to those who work. The inter-office management smells of the type of management that makes people leave companies. That said, everything comes across as good natured, rather than mean spirited.

For the most part, though some are better and doing than teaching others. For some english is not their first language which can also cause issues. Recognition and performance feedback is generally only given in 6 monthly performance reviews. I guess this can lead to you thinking you're doing great only to find out that you're not, no chance for correction until its too late (well, chance to improve for the next review but you already lost half of your raise or this review), though not a position i've found myself in.

Yes, i can talk to my manager casually. Also, there's a one-on-one meeting every 3 weeks where i would receive performance feedback.
