Pros & Cons

  • The best thing about working at John Holland is being able to work in projects that create meaningful changes in our society as well as work with like-minded people.
  • The culture around the team and the graduate program is amazing. Heaps of networking opportunities with the other graduates which is great.
  • The culture and support from People. The ample opportunities that the company provides to try new projects or to try different roles.
  • Wide range of projects that leave a lasting positive impact on the community.
  • Exposure to different projects and industries that I am exposed to in my normal day-to-day life.
  • The expectation to work very long hours permanently, on site, throughout the entire project.
  • Limited mobility across different teams/departments, people tend to specialise in an area and stay in the same role in their career instead of exploring different pathways.
  • It can be hard to transition if you are not used to being autonomous with your workload/tasks.
  • Extensive hours you will need to commit – early starts and late finishes, especially if based on site.
  • Company is so massive that you can get lost as another number.
