Career Prospects at Leidos Australia

It doesn't seem very clear

There seems to be a lot of avenues i can go down while working here.

Promotion happens on the end of the graduate program, at the beginning of the next year.

You progress at the end of the graduate year as long as you have done what was expected.

Promotion possibilities seem a bit limited in the first year, but will open up once out of your grad year. Criteria for promotions is pretty well defined as software engineering roles are tiered.

To work your way up the ranks seems very straight forward. There is a map of knowledge expectations to reach for each level. That makes it easy if you know what role you enjoy. However, if you wish to explore it seems a bit harder to experiment in various roles before settling in an area.

The only way to get a salary increase and move up the ranks is to be at the company for a long time. Hard work and skill is not recognised as it should

The potential career pathways open to me are quite clear and i feel confident in the knowledge that if i continue to perform well, i will move on to bigger and better positions in time.

The lower ranks are usually progressed through the initial experience as long as a competent knowledge base was developed. Not too sure overall about ranks further up the chain (t3, t4 etc. )

Do your job well, show that you're dedicated, work hard, can do more, and you will be promoted.

Complete your job and reach your workday goals. This is frustrating as we can't really reach said goals with so little tasks to complete.

Well a promotion hasn't occurred yet but i'm expecting to continue my performance and move along my career development.

Promotion responsibilities are very attainable as there are 3 opportunities for promotions as a graduate at leidos. These can be achieved after performance reviews.

All graduates are employed on a full time, ongoing basis. At the end of the grad program, based on performance there are promotions after that the company will do their best to help you grow in every way.

Because of the team that i am in, progression is slow due to a high retention rate. That said, it's not that slow. A year as a grad, maybe 3-5 as a software engineer, then 5-10 as a senior etc.

One of the main reasons i've started at leidos is to take advantage of promotion possibilities and learning opportunities to find my place efficiently.

Straight to the point

There isn't a lot of direction with my career at the moment since i've only had the opportunity to work on teratext so i'm not sure where i'm going to go from here or where i could go in the future.
