I like how varied my day to day responsibilities are and how they allow me to work with different people with different skills and expertise.

As a temporary undergrad role, I felt like I was often floating about and would have preferred a higher degree of responsibility.

Largely part of the fit out team, I have been responsible for building/pushing programmes, ensuring works are meeting technical specs., documenting quality and sequencing works for partitions, waterproofing, painting and frames/doors. On top of this, I have had exposure to commercial roles through assessing variation claims for subcontractors on-site.

Had various roles which had different day-to-day responsibilities as I was rotated to different teams such as delivery, design and commercial.

Assisted and conducted site inductions, covid compliance systems. Recorded meeting minutes. Reviewing and collating EHS and quality documentation. Assisting assessment and preparation of payment claims, purchase orders, order amendments, variations, sample registers. New drawing review and leading red stick process. Tracking defects and creating weekly defects and incomplete works list. Reviewing drawings for clashes and setting up registers where required.

I could be doing more engineering & less admin, but overall I can see the value in what I do and that helps keep me motivated.

My work mainly involves doing the financial accounting for our property development projects throughout Australia. That includes; posting journals, raising billing events, advising finance managers, project creation, maintenance and closure.

I enjoy my role, it is however very challenging.

Running of four trade packages (facade, painting, final clean and swing stages).

Currently I am working on a bid team reviewing many of the construction management elements of submission. this could include programming, construction management plans, staging, running tenders, writing scopes, estimating etc.

Document control, procuring upcoming trades, resolving problems on site, ensuring safety, quality, monitoring program and issuing programs to subcontractors.
