About the Graduate Program

The Graduate Program provides you with the experience, supervision, mentoring and training necessary to make a meaningful contribution to Nova and determine your own career pathway.

The Graduate Program provides:

  • A permanent role with Nova Systems
  • Structured rotations across different parts of the business
  • A fully-inclusive training and professional development program designed specifically for graduates
  • Regular contact with senior staff including a dedicated mentor
  • Annual Graduate Summit and regular social events

What you will be involved in:

A logistics consultant at Nova consults across multiple areas and disciplines, applying their skills in Integrated Logistics Support and Materiel Logistics.  This includes a range of areas for our largest client, the Australian Defence Force. Logistics Support in Nova and with our clients is more than warehousing and distribution, it includes supporting the development, acquisition and sustainment of complete systems (e.g. a helicopter) to maintain assets through their service life.

Graduates in the Integrated Logistics Support stream have undertaken rotations in all three of the Defences services. Development and acquisition of the M1A1 AIM SA Abrams Main Battle Tank Upgrade project involve planning around acquiring the asset and how they will be supported.  Sustainment of the Deployable Force Infrastructure project, including sanitation, catering, water management, and shelters, can involve using various tools such as ERP systems, to effectively support, organise, track and monitor Defence assets.  Internal rotations in other areas of the business, such as finance and business development, are also available.

If you are interested in challenging yourself with logistics which is not seen in everyday life, then this role is for you!

What we would expect from you:

We are seeking a personable individual with the following experience/skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Commerce (Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management major preferred)

Pros and cons of working at Nova Systems

Pros

  • The community and culture are amazing. Everyone is friendly and always welcoming.

  • Flexible hours, good support.

  • The flexibility of work, variety of opportunities available and positive work environment.

  • The company invests in fostering community spirit and an interconnected culture.

  • Lots of amazing people who are willing to help and aid in your growth.

Cons

    • Probably due to the lack of knows, the industry is unpredictable, but that doesn’t always have to transfer to the grad program. There could be some fallback structure.

    • The office environment can on occasions often feel too quiet and remote.

    • The type of work can be not as interesting sometimes.

    • Graduate program was underwhelming. I don't think I have learnt a lot as an engineer.

    • Limited work opportunities. Tightened policy on relocation & flexible work.
