About the role:

As a Graduate Agronomist at our Griffith branch, you will see yourself join a collaborative team of hard-working professionals dedicated to forming strong and genuine relationships with growers and customers in this diverse agricultural region with a focus on helping increase their yield. 

What you’ll be doing:

In this new addition to our branch, you will join an inclusive and collaborative team of 26 branch members including 6 experienced agronomists there to support your development. 

In this role, you will learn how to;

  • Provide agronomic and technical support to clients and producers in the region together with product sales both in store and on farm
  • Build strong relationships with growers and develop a strong understanding of their business goals 
  • Share technical and market information to enable growers to improve the performance and sustainability of their farming enterprises
  • Run and coordinate field days and farmer meetings 
  • Provide expert advice on summer cropping agronomic inputs for crops including rice and cotton.

What we’ll love about you:

  • Be a recent graduate in Ag Science or similar
  • Excellent customer service, organisational, administrative, and computing skills complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Some technical field experience is advantageous
  • A passion for local farming communities and agribusiness with demonstrated skills in customer service
  • A can-do-attitude and an appetite to learn
  • A driver’s licence is critical.

    • Being such a big company, the communication can sometimes not be the greatest, but most of the time it is good.

    • The pay is monthly which can take time to get used to.

    • Sometimes the expectations are unclear.

    • A large company with multiple business units that can internally compete.
