The office I am currently is fine and has all the facilities. The offices in the CBD are better, newer, with more light and space, but I am happy at my current office because the people are really good. The parking is the only issue. Parking inspectors do come by often and there is no all-day parking. Otherwise, I would be even more happy with my office.
Graduate, Melbourne - 12 Sep 2024
Office space, facilities, and location are quite nice, though we will be moving next year to another building and starting hot desking, which I'm not looking forward to. Not much of a dress code given I'm not in a customer-facing role.
APS6, Brisbane - 15 Aug 2024
Location is good, but I would like staff parking and have more windows. The dress code is good, but the bright blue of the uniform makes us easily identifiable in public, creating safety issues.
Graduate, Hobart - 13 Aug 2024
Office is open plan style but with plenty of private rooms to take meetings. It's bright with lots of windows facing nature which I appreciate. My ergonomic needs were speedily accommodated (sit stand desk, compact keyboard, special chair). Kitchen is a bit sparse but has the essentials (microwave, hot and cold water taps, sandwich press). No set dress code but it is pretty flexible which works for everyone.
Graduate in 2021, APS6 since April 2022, Canberra - 12 Aug 2024
Great. We have a brand-new building with all of the amenities. Though there ar not enough desks and/or lockers to accommodate everyone
former graduate. APS employee now, Adelaide - 12 Aug 2024
My office is very new. Lots of issues with elevators
APS5, Adelaide - 12 Aug 2024
There are many buildings. Current building is adequate, but a new building is being finalised. Dress code is smart casual.
APS 5, Brisbane - 08 Aug 2024
Uniform is necessary
the office is great and has good, clean facilities
The lack of privacy ie own office is not great when it comes to taking professional and private phone calls
Graduate, Bunbury - 07 Aug 2024
It's fine. The dress code is corporate but often more senior colleagues dress quite casually. senior in time spent in the department, not senior as EL or SES.
APS6, Wollongong - 07 Aug 2024
Location of most of the offices is terrible - extremely far away from the CBD
APS5, Canberra - 07 Aug 2024
Elevator situation is not good and furthermore, the fact their is no alternative i.e. stairs is quite bizarre
Graduate, Adelaide - 07 Aug 2024
New modern facility and corporate dress code
Graduate, Melbourne - 07 Aug 2024
Good location, clean. All open plan rows of desks though. No perks, not even free cups of tea. There is a dress code but no one really cares.
Graduate, Perth - 17 Jul 2024
Location of corporate offices are good but there are none outside of major cities. The buildings are drab and very much dated however they are building new ones.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
I work in the Adelaide office - the building itself is brand new and the facilities are great. The downside is that there are not enough desks in the building for all the staff so staff must book desks via a "hot-desking" system. There are also limited lockers on site - you would be lucky to get one, and if you do, it will most likely be on the other side of the building floor. Dress code is casual office wear to corporate wear - the standard can base on location (i.e. unspoken rule that Canberra is corporate attire).
Acting APS6 (Substantive APS5), Adelaide - 08 Jul 2024
Dress code is fine, and facilities are almost perfect - just need the darn PC monitors to work
Graduate, Canberra - 08 Jul 2024
Space, location, and facilities are excellent. Although next year we will be moving to a different office which will involve hot desking, which I am not looking forward to. Dress code is fairly relaxed as we are not in a customer-facing team. Functionally most people will dress in office wear to casual dress.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
Location is good, close to the station, facilities are clean. The office is a little old but it's fine. There is no complementary tea or coffee :( but the cafe downstairs is cheap (compared to other places in the area). Dress code is business casual, and not very strict which is great in my opinion.
APS5, Sydney - 05 Jul 2024
The offices are nice, the dress code is fairly relaxed, but the facilities let them down. Almost every meeting room bar the core ones the external monitors/tv's dont work, the CISCO's dont work and there is zero support for setting any of these things up.
