Diversity at South32

I have no issues on such matters.

I haven't really been exposed. The company makes it compulsory that you attend a cross-cultural workshop with the local community which is good to understand that and be mindful of it. Currently staff retention is difficult especially post the cyclone events, quite a few people have left.

The team is extremely diverse, which is done very well.

From my position, the company appears to be very inclusive.

I know maternity leave is a big thing here at S32, flexibility helps with the child care access and retention is a big factor as we do not want to lose skilled employees.

From what I know about the maternity leave policy, it is excellent. However, when it comes to real inclusion/diversity, there is a lot to be desired. There is an effort to recruit more women but not much being done to change the culture to make it a good place for women to stay.

From my perspective, compared to previous organisations, South32 is focused on promoting diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and the LGBT community.

Very inclusive, diversity champion awards, strong community presence.

Currently, there is a significant push to improve diversity at the company. Most conversation about diversity focuses on gender diversity, but there is a broad push to improve

Fully support the move for gender diversity but there should be a greater focus to gain diversity in cultures, ages and thoughts.

Graduate programs, interviews with remote workers from around the world.

Provides scholarships etc.

Flexible working hours, construction of new infrastructures, promoting more support for them by company (WIN does that)
