On Teach For Australia's two-day Lead-Up Experience, you'll develop a deep understanding of the 'on the ground' and systemic issues that confront the education of Australia's young people.
The program will take place on 24-25 November 2021, online. You'll gain insight into Teach For Australia's one-of-a-kind graduate Leadership Development Program and kick-start your career. This experience lasts two days and will give you insight into the life of a Teach For Australia Associate and a chance to lead up in a new way.
On the Lead Up Experience, you will learn how Associates combine training, work and life. You'll see how even young leaders can create immediate impact and you will grow your own leadership capacity by working with like-minded individuals on a proposal to give students access to the education all young people deserve.
We'll also give you the low-down on how to apply for the Program and what subjects will help you step into the classroom.
Over the two days you will:
I am provided with extensive leadership opportunities and have autonomy with determining the learning journey for more than 100 young people, with significant and regular training.
A lot to learn but enjoying the journey.
A mix of teaching, planning lessons, as well as marking and organisational tasks.

Education & Training
Teach For Australia is part of a global movement that is dedicated to breaking the cycle of disadvantage through teaching and leadership in education
Working alongside like-minded people, great colleagues, great leadership.
There are many levels of support, and there is genuine care that is felt from the organisation to us.
Doing my masters while working.
A lot of support and understanding. It feels like everyone is very real and takes things on practically as opposed to being held down by rules.
The culture is very supportive. Changing careers can be very stressful, but I have found the transition to be seamless because of the training and mentorship offered by TFA.
The impact I am able to have towards educational equity.
High workload and no breaks for the duration of the 2-year program.
Challenging.
The small stipend covers the first 3 months of training before full employment begins.
