Our company culture is extremely important to us, and our values guide our collaborative efforts. We are:

  • Smarter together
  • Give a damn
  • Create tomorrow
  • Be courageous
  • Strong views, held lightly

Velrada is a place where you can be yourself. We value diverse experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. We have a relaxed culture, but we’re serious about achieving impactful results for our clients.

This hard work has paid off and we are proud to be one of the very few invited to be part of Microsoft's Inner Circle and Partner Advisory Council, and love nothing more than solving complex business problems for our customers in a wide array of industries including Industrial, Healthcare and Government organisations.

Thanks to our continued work and expertise in Microsoft Dynamics, we have just been recognized as a Finalist for the Microsoft Partner of the Year in Dynamics 365 Service 2024 for the 6th year in a row! We will continue to strive to be the most highly regarded Microsoft partner in the world and are looking for great talent to achieve this goal. There is no better time to look at a career with Velrada.

Your role

The Velradian Graduate Program is an important component of our employee workforce, which has been designed to provide you with the right support, opportunities and growth to launch your career.

We are looking for individuals with a passion for technology and an interest in exploring a career in consulting, where you will engage in problem-solving, learning from the best, and ultimately delivering quality outcomes for our clients.

So, what does a Business Technology Graduate Consultant at Velrada actually do?

  • You will be part of a team responsible for partnering with clients to provide solutions and expertise to their problems with a specific focus on the Microsoft Tech stack.
  • You will support the team to design, develop and implement a range of solutions to solve a client’s problems.
  • You will support the deployment of projects on customer sites using processes which include Workshops , Proof of Concepts, Design, Development, Customisations, and Support.
  • You will be involved with client workshops, project meetings, and training demonstrations.
  • You’ll get to develop a range of project management skills including defining project goals, creating and updating project plans to ensure that Velrada is always meeting our client project deliverables.
  • You’ll get to work within a billing framework, which means that your time will be charged to a client project and therefore you’ll get to develop the skill of using your time appropriately and efficiently to meet the needs of our clients.

Training, development & rotations

The Velrada Graduate Program is a 12-month initiative designed to provide you with a solid foundation in consulting, enhance your skills, and offer hands-on experience with client projects. The program is structured as follows.

  • For the first 3 months you will:
    • Get hands on training in the foundations of consultancy and the Microsoft technologies that Velrada works with
    • Participate in a mixture of classroom and online learning
    • Work with a team of fellow graduates to deliver a project to present to Senior leaders at Velrada
  • For the next 3 months, you will:
    • Work with different teams in our consulting practices
    • Shadow internal and external work
  • For the final 6 months, you will be able to join our consulting practices, start working directly on client projects, and receive regular coaching and development throughout. The practices you will join may be any of the following:
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • Finance & Operations
    • Customer Engagement
    • Data and AI
    • Azure Cloud
    • Modern Apps
    • Modern Workplace
    • Advisory

At the end of the program, you will hopefully have a better idea where you want to focus your career and progression within functional, business or technical consulting at Velrada, OR a blend of all three. We will then work with you and the practice leads to determine where you will continue your consulting career.

Pros and cons of working at Velrada

Pros

  • Collaboration between cross-functional teams and the opportunity to learn across the teams.

  • Velrada understands the importance of work-life balance and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone can perform at their best while also enjoying their personal lives.

  • Work Culture... Opportunities to work on new and upcoming technologies.

  • Supportive, collaborative, and inclusiveness.

  • The flexibility to work in various areas of the business and select the path that best aligns with my interests and skills was awesome.

Cons

    • The constant change... can be exciting but also a bit chaotic. One day you’re working on a project, and the next, the priorities shift completely.

    • Communication between departments could be improved to ensure smoother collaboration and understanding of shared goals.

    • The learning curve? It’s steep... always something new to learn, and it can feel like you’re perpetually playing catch-up.

    • Allocation of resources where senior resources are prioritised over junior resources... some resources are underutilized.

    • Supplied tools like laptops are not up to the standard... We are still using laptops with 16GB RAM which can slow down the development progress.
