Eligibility
You must be Australian or New Zealand Citizen OR an Australian Permanent Resident AND be in your final year of study of a university degree OR completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree no more than 3 years ago.
You’ll need to be available to start with us as a permanent employee in February 2024.
Our Technology (Data) Program
This is a 12-month program dedicated to a specific technology capability.
You'll spend 12 months in a team, building a well-rounded understanding of how that technology function works. You'll be surrounded by leaders who are invested in your development and focused on providing tailored experiences to match your determination and drive to explore their area of expertise.
This program has been designed for you to get straight into a defined role and team for an extended period, but still not lose the perks of a grad program, including the connection to a larger cohort and direct access to our leadership team.

What is this program about?
Data is an area of strategic priority at Westpac, with data continuing to disrupt the way organisations operate. As data continues to grow, we require talent to help harness the value of our data through advanced analytics, machine learning and big data. To grow and develop this talent, our Specialised Data program offers you a journey through a career focused on data. It will provide an insight into the many different facets within the organisation. At the core of our function, we’re responsible for driving the data capability, growth, and competencies across the organisation to deliver great outcomes and service to our customers.
How does it work?
Our grads are surrounded by leaders who are invested in their development, a large cohort of peers to share the experience with and opportunities to get involved in community-driven initiatives to develop your leadership. The specialised 12-month program will also provide you with tailored learning opportunities to develop across all areas of data, as well as ongoing support from the team and broader organisation.

Choose our Specialist Data Program if you’re clear on your future role in data. You will need a STEM degree and background. Then, we will provide you with a technical, capability-focused program to build specific skills through hands-on experience in a specific function of tech at Westpac.

Provide hr advice to employees and leaders across the group
A lot of admin work - booking meetings, writing minutes, making presentation packs, liaising with eas to organise higher-ups attendance. a lot of work is given to you that others in the team would rather not do - the important thing is to have a good attitude regardless of how passionate you are about it as that attitude is what people will talk about when you roll off/apply for internal roles.
