As a graduate the pay is generous however there is a clear lack of understanding from HR of the relevant companies to benchmark against as one moves past a graduate. Comparing us to companies that operate entirely different disciplines (subsea vs onshore) or are in entirely different segments (whilst the title is the same a service company engineer does a very different job) is baffling.

The compensation is fair and bonuses are part of our package, but these depend on company performance which can often feel out of my control due to the area I am in (outside the base business)

Pay is on the upper scale for engineering graduates - however has eroded by 10%+ in real terms over the last 3 years thus is now much less competitive. Pay is higher at competitors.

Flexible work weeks. In Perth this is 19/30, where if you work an extra 30min each day you can take an extra day off each month.

Salary sacrifice mobile phone. Social club with heavily discounted tickets to events. Opportunity to purchase leave if you wish. Always giving freebies away, free morning teas, afternoon teas, events etc. Great EOY parties.
