Diversity at Worley

Ethnic diversity is great; however, it requires a higher level of gender diversity.

There is a Women support network here that organises events that advocates gender equality.

The company strives for diversity. Many of the management roles are occupied by women and people of different cultural backgrounds. There are several company-wide clubs that arrange regular events about various topics in diversity and inclusion.

They are definitely improving on diversity, especially with new CEO pushing many diversity programmes.

The office itself contains people from a variety of backgrounds and can see many personnel's here from different nationalities. I'm working in the engineering department, and within the team which I work in (around 15 people), 3 of us are women. The company has also openly supported LGBT. Maternity and paternity leaves are available

Flexible hours help

Just looking around the office it is surprisingly diverse for an engineering company, there are more men than women but it's about 70/30. There are also colleagues with a wide range of backgrounds, the company is very committed to increasing diversity.

As with most engineering firms there is a majority male workforce, but this is openly discussed as something the company is seeking to even move forward.

We celebrate such events

Establish strong market presence and be strong advocates of supporting social causes and people from these sorts of backgrounds. This has successfully attracted talent from regional areas.

Last year (2019), the company held a workshop where employees volunteered their time to give refugees with engineering qualifications in their previous countries, advice about how to apply for work in Australia. And some people at the workshop were hired.

The company has conducted events that collaborates with refugee organisations to help refugees create their resumes and possibly join the company through an internship.
