As a Graduate Account Broker, you will be responsible for the administration of clients’ records, policies and invoices for existing and new clients.  You will also provide general administrative support services to the broader Construction practice and the Operations Support team in Mumbai.  This is an entry-level role offering a genuine career path in the insurance broking industry.

The Role

  • General administration requirements including booking travel, expense remittances, organising meetings and general Broker support functions
  • Assist in managing clients’ general construction programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services
  • In conjunction with Senior brokers, ensuring that the client’s risk management and insurance broking objectives are determined and actioned to ensure the delivery of high-quality services
  • Monitor and work in conjunction with the offshore Operations Support team in Mumbai to ensure the preparation and processing of policies, tax invoices and extensions 
  • Maintain comprehensive client data on WTW systems, facilities and databases
  • Managing policy documents and reports
  • Issuance of client certificates of placement, policy wordings, certificates of currency 
  • Assist with collection reports through effective debtor management
  • Adhere to all compliance, business processes, company policies and procedures
  • Assist with and maintain detailed audit and review programs and reports
  • Keep abreast of continuing regulatory changes and developments in general Construction 
  • Maintenance of comprehensive, detailed reporting and records management
  • Assist to develop and enhance existing policy and procedures

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from any discipline
  • The desire to build a career with a leading global broking and advisory company
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritise work
  • Ideally hold Certificate III or FSRA Tier 2 training completed or commitment to complete this qualification

  • Welcoming place to work, and very understanding superiors when it comes to taking a little extra time to learn processes and the work. Legitimate incentives to continue study with pay rises and study leave.

Cons

    • Nature of the business, but work tends to clump a touch through the year, some months are crazily busy whereas others are quiet.

    • The inconsistent nature of consulting and meeting client deadlines. Can have the occasional lull of work with little to do, and other times have multiple competing jobs requiring many extra hours to complete.

    • I think the worst thing can be the technology at times. IT systems or devices not working.

    • Team with no set office days which mean it's difficult to create connections with co-workers.

    • Environment can be too quiet at times.
