Get to where you need to be. Sooner

ANZ’s award-winning graduate program is designed to fast-track the career you have been working so hard towards. All grads are hand-picked to fill a specific opening within the business so are in the driver’s seat from day one. And when you cross the finishing line 18 months later there will be a job waiting in an area of your choice. Along with a generous boost to your already healthy starting salary.

Things move fast at ANZ as we’re doing the important work that only one of Australia’s biggest banks with a global network can tackle. It won’t take you long to realise you’re with good people who are all working towards a common goal. You will be too, but don’t worry - you won’t be expected to have all the answers up front.

Instead, six monthly rotations will open your eyes to what’s possible at ANZ and what’s the best path for you to take. The time you spend on the program will be jam packed with learning and networking opportunities to set you up with the contacts, confidence, and expertise to turbo charge your career.

So don’t delay, because our plans are big - and we want you up front with us!

We have program pathways in a range of our divisions including Risk.

About the Risk Program

As a Risk Grad, you’ll gain breadth over depth by completing three, six month rotations, giving you exposure to different teams across the Risk Division.

Risk is a critical function for ANZ, with highly valued and innovative teams that enable the Enterprise to deliver its purpose – to create a world where people and communities thrive. This means you’ll  be involved in stimulating and rewarding work and discover a people first, collaborative, values driven culture.

  • Gain valuable, hands-on experience working with (and learning from!) industry leading professionals across various areas of risk management including credit risk, market risk, financial crime, and regulatory compliance.
  • Regular networking opportunities (often including coffee) and plenty of social activities will help you grow a strong professional network
  • Find solutions to a real problem, by taking ownership of  a graduate project!  Delivery is supported by a project sponsor and project coach
  • Be empowered to grow, learn and progress in a supportive environment, where your strengths, interests and career aspirations are valued.
  • You’ll also be able to hone your collaborative skills, while working across different teams and  geographies, as the Risk Division has a global footprint and supports all aspects of ANZ operations

About You

We don’t know your name yet, but we do know that you’re curious, smart, driven and already have some great life experiences behind you. And that’s exactly what we want! Along with a mix of backgrounds, opinions, and disciplines to drive the bank forward.

You don’t need a banking or finance background to join ANZ. We need people who can work well in a team, are strong communicators, enjoy putting forward ideas, can deliver at pace, and want to collaborate with us on exciting projects to help us shape a world where people and communities thrive.

About ANZ

There’s something special about being part of ANZ. From the moment you join us, you’re part of a team working towards a common goal: improving the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers - and that’s big.

But it’s not just our customers who’ll feel your impact. You’ll feel it too as you continuously learn, develop, experience new things, and get the support of a community who’ll help you take the next big steps in your career.

As one of Australia’s biggest banks, we have many opportunities in many locations, doing important and interesting work across different geographies, different divisions, and different disciplines. Joining ANZ is about working out exactly where you want your career to go and getting the skills and connections to get there.

We’re well known for looking after our people and their wellbeing, which is why the Australian Financial Review ranked us the number 1 place for grads to work in the banking, finance and insurance industries for three years running!

Being part of ANZ means working in a diverse and inclusive workplace where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated and embraced. We encourage you to talk to us about any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself. If you are a candidate with a disability, let us know how we can provide you with additional support.

Ready to take the next big step in your career?

Apply now for the 2025 ANZ Australia Graduate Program, before applications close: 22nd April 2024

ANZ recognises the value of an inclusive and diverse work environment. We take pride in the diversity of our people and encourage applications from diverse candidates. Our recruitment decisions are based on the key inherent needs and requirements of each role and candidates are selected based on their unique strengths and characteristics.
