What projects/initiatives does your employer run and what have you worked on personally?
Our CSR Manager is constantly working on projects that are available to the rest of the staff, such as charity events.

Look I don't work for BP but at the end of the day it's and investment fund. They haven't drowned any dolphins in oil but they're not exactly in a rush to make a difference.

A number of employees, including the Australian Managing Director, are involved in the charity projects, which CSC does support. There are often charity initiatives being driven by regional leadership councils etc.

We do charities. I have personally been involved in and volunteered at, on behalf of the company, a charity event called Half The Sky to raise money for orphans in China.

There are many initiatives that CSC runs to benefit society. A lot of these include environmental programs that look at reducing greenhouse emissions that is produced by CSC. Since 2012, CSC has reduced its greenhouse emissions by 13% and 15% reduction in absolute energy used; both of these have exceeded expectations.

CSC itself aims to be socially responsible through initiatives such as reducing office footprint and utilising refurbished office work stations. CSC also strives to help its clients in the way they become more socially responsible. CSC does this through things such as paperless work solutions and electronic medical records.

We are committed to CSR. We focus mainly on charity work from raising funds to sponsoring charity events. I am a member of the Regional leadership council where our focus is placed on this and how we can get the whole community involved.

CSC does a lot to make sure that it is committed to CSR. One of the events I was involved in was to volunteer for Half the Sky foundation, which CSC supports.

My Department is funded by taxpayer dollars so there is limited scope to use this for corporate responsibility. Instead, charity drives and Social Club initiatives organised by the staff (e.g. raffles and bake sales) contribute large sums to charity every year.
