I think it is a fair graduate salary and there are no bonuses paid.

The salary is broadbanded as per the EBA. The Government Lawyer salary is amongst the most generous in Canberra and rewards talent with the opportunity to move quickly up the scale.

Good pay for an entry level career, coming from the private sector I did expect slightly more, but happy to have an increased work/life balance.

Pay is quite good for an entry level position, and since it is a government organisation, super is also higher than private companies. However there are no bonuses on top of this, apart from travel allowances.

We get nothing extra on top of salary. It is not big money comparing with bankers, etc,. It is a fair pay according to the market rate considering the workload, pressure, working hours and work life balance.

As a public servant bonuses are out of the question. The salary tends to make up for that though. However, we do receive a health bonus during the year, which is much more positive approach to creating healthy work environments

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.

As a Government department, I would say the best thing is 15 %superannuation.

We have an annual health allowance, which is essentially extra pay in your pay cheque once a year. There are also lots of deals the department has with clubs and gyms.
