The work culture, supportive working environment.
Excellent workplace culture. People are friendly and happy to impart their knowledge.
I like the diverse culture, agency and teams are very welcoming, lots of opportunities to exhibit new ideas and talent which becomes a major part of innovation. The department also encourages us to support activities like health and wellbeing, mental awareness etc, and also I get involved in networks like ESG, geniE, Yammer etc.
Strong graduate training curriculum and a very supportive culture outstanding training opportunities work life balance friendly working environment and employee support job security sense of fulfilment Social club ! we have a choir here so extend your social life to other singers in the dept.
It's a very social and friendly Department. Leadership team are very welcoming, supportive and approachable.

Canberra is a great city, but you might feel quiet if you are moving from Syd/Mel.
I found the graduate programme's rotations weren't long enough. 5 months per rotation wasn't enough time to really get settled into a team.
The ebbs and flows. Sometimes there isn't a lot of work to do. However my supervisor was great in delegating a research paper for the rotation that I would work on during quiet times.
Lack of autonomy over work.
You are accountable for your own work and it would help if you are surrounded by colleagues who can always assist without compromising their busy schedules.

By nature of its work the Department sets an excellent example and maintains high standards of employee well-being in the form of cooperation, team work and socialising. There are plenty of social and work-related events that can be extended to networks and future cooperation. Get into stuff that you are really interested and specialise in them.

Facilities are very good. Plenty of space for personal belongings near workstations and common cupboards. Dress code can vary according to the team. Casual Fridays!
