Pros and cons of working at Dolby Australia

Pros

  • The people at Dolby are all extremely generous with their time if you ask for help or have questions, including those who are considered experts in the industry.

  • The culture/atmosphere/people is very supportive and flexible.

  • Flexible working hours with the ability to choose to work in office or remotely.

Cons

    • Code are not very well-maintained sometimes (lack of documentation, lack of coding style standards).

    • There are generally fewer social events, mostly due to COVID, so it can be difficult for new hires to get to know each other and the wider Dolby community.

    • Flex work policy means there is not as much large-scale social interaction as pre-covid
