Your experience

Our seasonal clerk programs are your opportunity to sample life in the law and at Lander & Rogers, to see whether we're right for you. The program will build on your university education through practical experience, including structured training, workshops, mentoring and, most importantly, doing real work for real clients.

We're looking for people with the intelligence to tackle complex and interesting legal scenarios, energy to absorb new concepts and willingness to work productively and collaboratively with different people.

Our culture

Learn in an environment where new ideas are welcomed and knowledge is openly exchanged. You'll be supported to reach new heights as you solve interesting and often complex legal problems alongside real clients.

Every individual who joins our growing firm is an essential contributor to our shared success. That's why we don't simply seek the brightest legal minds, but those with whom we share values of authenticity and connection.

Accelerate your success alongside a team that is invested in your growth, while exploring, developing and honing your legal skills and business acumen.

Who can apply?

The Seasonal Clerkship Program is open to students studying a relevant law degree who are either in their penultimate or final year.

My role is very much to support whoever needs it. However, the supervisors try their best to find us interesting tasks to complete, rather than the same tasks.

Pros and cons of working at Lander & Rogers

Pros

  • Work life balance, great support, great culture, great people.

  • Everyone in the firm is extremely supportive and has made transitioning into a legal role an enjoyable experience.

  • The people are really friendly, the training and mentoring and working with people at all levels.

  • Great work hours for the industry and flexibility to work from home.

  • Everyone at the firm is always open for providing an explanation of tasks and feedback.

Cons

    • The pay is on the lower end of the current market rate, but still competitive.

    • Occasional poor turnout in the office due to people working from home.

    • Slightly fewer graduate responsibilities - it's quite a lot for a small cohort to juggle responsibilities.

    • The Brisbane office is great, but as the office grows we are starting to run out of space.

    • Pay is not as competitive and no bonuses.
