I am a graduate civil engineer with one year of experience. I do a mix of technical, MSQA and design work with mentorship from more experienced members of my team. I have time for personal development and training, participating in my graduate programme and the Developing Professionals Group. Currently I spend most of my time doing MSQA for a project, which is now in the commissioning stage, where I will arrange and conduct site visits, draft Notices and Variations for my project lead to approve, and hold meetings with the client and the contractor.

So far, I have mostly worked on stormwater and wastewater where day to day involves being the doer of these projects following the task plan with support from seniors. Responsibilities with this include carrying out the tasks, checking in with the checker and seeking support when unsure. Since starting I've really enjoyed the project work and being able to come in and work on/continue something straight away. The projects have been interesting, and I feel like I get to constantly learn new processes as a grad.

Role: Graduate Structural Engineer Responsibilities: - Carry out structural related calculations, structural analysis for the wider team, project managers on any water/wastewater projects. - Site inspections, investigation on steel and concrete structures - Produce structural assessment reports - Any other miscellaneous tasks required by the wider team and project managers

I am a Data and Automation Analyst. I tend to spend all my day on one or two projects. I usually have certain tasks / outputs required for a project which I am working towards by making coding scripts in Python or utilizing FME.

I am very satisfied with the type of work I am completing.

Engineering geologist - report writing, geo mapping, desk studies, site work of various kinds

I am mostly involved in the construction monitoring of projects on site. My role involves keeping all the progress on-site, holding site meetings, and providing updates to seniors. Besides that, I am helping out my colleagues and seniors in their work if there is anything they want me to do to reduce their workloads.

Reports, workshop presentations, assessments, emails, the odd site visit, lots of project meetings where we update the team on progress.

I am a graduate environmental scientist who mainly works with rivers and erosion issues/option assessments. My day to say involves mapping river channels, writing reports, calculating flow, 2D modelling and some designing of remedial options. My main responsibilities are to be the dooer.

As a graduate - helping write reports, collate data, learn new skills to use for future work, learning to use software and programs relevant to my field of work.

I enjoy my day to day work, its generally doing calculations or writing reports. I also enjoy meetings with clients and the team to discuss issues.

My role as a mechanical engineer is to assist with projects and design. Currently I am working on two construction monitoring projects where my responsibilities include regular site visits and reporting, and I have some design tasks for various projects. My responsibilities include planning my days to ensure deadlines are met for each project.

As a consultancy, we are expected to find work if we have nothing assigned. Can become an issue when there is nothing readily available but my opinion may also be biased as my role as a GIS analyst is relatively new to the office.
