The people are amazing, there is an awesome network of graduates, and all the seniors are super helpful and supportive.
There is flexibility regarding hours, and working remotely.
Being involved with a wide range of projects, based around NZ. Also having mentorship from many experienced people.

Stantec has been providing learning opportunities for graduates providing opportunities to work in the field we are interested in, with proper guidance from seniors.
Pay is alright for the size of this firm. It probably needs to be a little better hearing what my peers are making at other big companies and the mid-year salary reviews are always very minor.”
It seems really hard to get to the next career level from graduate. There is a 2-year grad program. After that, you have to do more competencies to get promoted.
The corporate-ness— it feels like it can get in the way of genuine relationships and the work itself.
Sometimes lack of support from the seniors because most of them are tied up with projects, and so busy with their work.
For me personally, due to my type of role, the availability of work. I often get quite a bit of downtime when I have nothing to work on.

It seems really hard to get to the next career level from graduate. After the two-year program, you have to do more competencies to get promoted and actually get a salary increase.
Stantec does a good job with its commitment to diversity and inclusion. There are a lot of inspiring women within Stantec doing great things while balancing career and family.
The best part of the company is everybody is friendly and welcoming, and it organizes events like morning tea and end-of-month drinks where we can meet and share our thoughts.
The company gives so many opportunities for training and development. I've had the opportunity to go to conferences and we have a lot of internal training.
