Working Hours at Stantec New Zealand

How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
I am on a salary, and work a 40hr week. We are discouraged from doing overtime unless it's for a pre-approved time sensitive project (ie doing a lot of field work for a week). I have flexibility to work from home when I want, although my team lead expects graduates to work in the office for at least a few days per week to ensure we are exposed to other colleagues so we can ask Qs and get involved with projects. If I travel to another city, I can easily work from the local office (we have offices in most major centers in NZ).

Company is flexible for hours and work from home etc i do sometimes end up doing uncompensated overtime for field work. - Not overly happy about when its regular generally i never work more than my contracted hours, unless absolutely necessary - otherwise i will finish early or early the following week after a discussion with manager I am aware that other grads are not allowed to do this at their managers instruction.

Can work whenever and wherever, as long as the 40 hours have been completed during the week. Can spend a lot of it working from home, seems as though about 2-3 days per week is okay. Or can work from the office the whole week if you prefer that. Very easy to pop out from work whenever if you have an appointment or something similar during the day too.

They are very flexible with working from home. I personally prefer to be in the office but it is nice to have the option when not feeling well to work from home.

Great flexibility! Overtime, unless applied for in advance isn't paid, however.

the company is pretty flexible about work hours, but as grads we are typically expected to be in the office within the usual hours of 8-5. There is some flexibility about starting early and finishing early. Overtime is very normalised and I sometimes have to come in on the weekends or stay late during the week to meet a deadline or get some work done. Working from home is allowed as long as we are reasonable with how much we do it as grads.

40 hr week. Very flexible with hours if you work more one day and less the other. No set time to come in, just as long as you work 40hrs a week it's fine.

Our company is very flexible with the working hours there is no any strict rule of fixed hours. By putting the urgency of work in mind we have a freedom to schedule our own time for the job. I think this has been a good approach for not putting extra mental pressure on the employees, ultimately, I believe it is helping to raise the productivity of the company.

You have 40 hours every week and it's up to you how you manage it so you could do 6 hours one day and 10 hours another. When you become more senior working more than 40 hours can become pretty standard

I work 40hour weeks and swap between the Petone and Wellington Office. The company is not flexible with hours, everything you miss must be made up and you must work 40hours a week but however you work it is fine as long as you work between 10 and 3.

Expected number of work hours is the usual 40 hours a week. Encouraged not to work more than this. There is flexibility work from home for 2 days/week with manager approval. Flexible work hours if you need to work early/late to fit other activities in your life.

Its expected of me that I work 40 hours a week and very rarely have I had to go over that. In my experience I've had a lot of support during busy periods. I find the company extremely flexible. I like to come in early and leave early, and I can also wfh whenever I want. I've never had any issues with flexible hours, although it would be cool to have the option to do 9 day fortnights.

I work 40 hours per week, the company is very flexible about when these can be completed which makes it easier to find the time to maintain hobbies and fitness as well as tasks like appointments etc.

It is a very flexible workspace. Working from home is very common and there are no set hours (i.e. you are not required to log your time in and time out). Most importantly is that you get your work done for the day. Lunch hours are also not set which is nice.
