They seem to be very about working with you to develop your career as you want, you can specialise in areas & take on more leadership roles as you go. It's also common for people to switch fields (Eg a dev becoming a BA, or an XD becoming a Dev.

They do a variety of pro-bono / discounted social justice projects. I've personally worked on a University Research department working on a site to match volunteers to Alzheimer studies. A fuel type virtual map to show how renewable vs non-renewable types of energy as used. They regularly hold events where people (especially journalists) can come in & be shown the best way to keep whole technology secure & secret. Also, they have worked on & created an entire delivery centre with a focus on being mostly indigenous people & making sure they are supported into leadership positions.

I have not yet been into the office due to the pandemic and local rules around indoor capacity. But after hours there have been several events, the company has been generous and thoughtful in setting these up. every person I have met so far has been fantastic.

There is a very strong focus on diversity, inclusivity, and fair hiring practices, and processes are constantly being improved. Diversity within the company is already quite high, with many minorities represented more than in most companies. We are actively recruiting people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait island origins and have created an on-shore delivery centre to provide work for teams wholly composed of people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait island origins. We accept developers who are self-taught and may have not gone to university.

It varies, sometimes I am on a client, which involves me working with a team of other thoughtworkers or client staff to complete work for the project. We try to use test driven development as much as possible & all the usual agile practices. When not on client I'm on 'the beach', which is a space to update your info/goals/admin, learn (self-driven, or via courses/books), help the sales team or with a client pitch, help with interviews, some low priority beach projects & anything else that pops up.

There are many opportunities for feedback and personal growth provided by management.

Located in the CBD and easy to get to. Has a fully stocked kitchen with snacks, soft drinks and beer and wine for evening drinks. Dress code is casual within reason (as sometimes we have clients visiting the office). High-speed internet. Can sit wherever you want and plenty of spare monitors available to use with your laptop.

Read about Test Driven Development and be able to explain it. Read about clean code and common code smells. They are regularly reviewing pays & keeping up with inflation/industry & accounting for unconscious bias. It's a long review process but it's so no one is overlooked. There are also have been bonuses, including a referral one.

As a grad, I attended Thoughtworks University, which is a fantastic six-week training course. We had the opportunity to work on a dummy project as a team, get training in Agile software development, and work with grads from all over Asia.

Work-life balance is very prominent at ThoughtWorks. Especially with lockdown and the flexibility to work from home.

My company does look into green initiatives and looks at them from an atypical perspective. how can tech improve the environmental state of the world.
