There appear to be decent upward mobility prospects, although not necessarily in the one team - you may have to move to a different team but this occurs frequently.

ASIC in the community is a big focus and grads every year have a charity where they fundraise towards a big donation target

Everyone is always happy to assist with anything no matter how big or small and you are always given opportunities to step up and take on new tasks or roles if you are interested. You will work with very senior people from the beginning and aren't given mundane tasks to start with, its straight into the deep end for an excellent learning experience.

ASIC prides itself on an extremely diverse workforce

I have a lot of variety in my day-to-day responsibilities. It can vary from policy writing to stakeholder engagement.

I've had pretty great and supportive managers in my rotations so far. We scheduled monthly catch ups in order for us to discuss what I was working on, did I have any issues, what I can improve on, what other help and support do I need from my peers etc.

The offices are nice and contain a lot of open space and flexible working areas. However, the organisation's hot desking policy is inconvenient, inefficient and stressful.

Graduates undergo a fairly rigorous assessment process in order to be accepted into the graduate program. This included an initial written application, cognitive and psychometric testing, a video interview, and face-to-face assessment centre.

Very attractive at a graduate level and room to improve quickly

There is a variety of face-to-face induction sessions and workshops, which provide useful overviews of the more technical areas of ASIC's work. These include workshops on certain pieces of legislation, types of financial services, and concepts relating to markets.

Very flexible. There are opportunities to work from home, negotiate your own working hours within ASIC's 7am to 7pm bandwidth and to gain flex hours if you're a graduate.

Environmental sustainability is probably not as advertised as other things as we do still have lots of hardcopy files but we are slowly transitioning to make things more digital.
